Marty Meets the Scooter

While it looks like Marty is having a good time in the photo, she had a more harrowing experience just a few nights ago. Marty knows all the ins and outs of her new abode, so when she saw the screen door in the back closing ever-so-slowly, she made a break for it and was outside! Little did Marty’s Mom and Dad know she had slipped out before the door had closed completely, so no one knew to guide the little husker back in before bedtime. The next morning when Marty’s Dad awoke at 5am and only Panda was eager for food, it was discovered Marty wasn’t in the house.
After a frantic search outside with flashlights, Marty was still nowhere to be found. Marty’s Mom started to search up and down the street, but then was returning home empty-handed to take a break until it was actually light outside, and then Marty appeared on the front porch! She was a little cold, a little rattled, and very hungry, but otherwise just fine.
Panda on the other hand thought Marty’s Mom and Dad had let a stray cat into the house. He proceeded to hiss and yowl in very high pitches at Marty for the next day until Marty’s Mom reunited the two huskers on the beam with a pile of treats between them, and they lived happily ever after.

The Aftermath

On a cool Sunday morning, Marty and Panda decided to teach Marty’s Dad once and for all that it was NOT okay to sleep in past 9:30am, because those little huskers are hungry, dang it! When Marty’s Dad finally awoke, there were no huskers to be found, which was highly unusual for the time of day and the fact that no one had gotten breakfast yet.
By the time Marty’s Dad reached the stairs to the basement, Panda was there with his morning greeting, although he was mysteriously meow-free on this morning. And Marty was still nowhere to be found.
Upon reaching the foot of the stairs, Marty’s Dad turned to see Marty hopping around on just 3 legs while shaking her front right cream paw with a super sticky bug trap attached! Marty’s Dad gave a little tug, it wasn’t coming off without a fight. Reinforcements were necessary.
Marty’s Mom carefully cut off the trap (bugs included) around Marty’s paw, leaving her a little paddle-like appendage. Then Google suggested her paw get a little bath in oil. Marty’s Dad gently dipped her paw in the small cup of oil, then there was a pause, then a shake – and oil went everywhere! But within another second, Marty’s cream paw was free of the trap. Marty quickly forgot about the entire incident, probably because she became focused on how hungry she was again since there still hadn’t been any breakfast.
So finally breakfast was served! And Marty’s Dad won’t be sleeping in too late from now on, because who knows what crazy antics Marty will come up with to try and top this episode!

The MartyBall

Believe it or not, enclosed in that beautiful buckyball of magnets hanging around Panda’s neck is a compressed ball of Marty’s fur – and Panda’s new favorite homemade cat toy! Marty’s Mom created the toy about a week ago by using fur brushed from Marty and rolled and compacted into a sphere – Panda and the MartyBall have been inseparable ever since. Panda has been hopping, leaping, darting, and yowling for the MartyBall with great passion, and with most cat toys costing a premium price nowadays, there are many more days of fun left in the MartyBall.

Marty’s New Kitchen!

Your good friend Marty sure has been busy lately. Marty’s family bought a new domain! So now Marty owns her very own piece of the Earth, it even came with a house! Now everyone has lots of space to husk around and make it their own. Stay tuned for more!
